Summary

He'll be the biggest name in the Commonwealth-- or die trying.

A washed up Hollywood actor turned Nuka-World Overboss, Amir is determined to regain his Old World infamy in the nuclear wasteland. He takes a hands-on approach to his new territory and quickly builds prospering vassal farm settlements and turns raider outposts into bustling cities. Although the Raiders don't take no for an answer, settlers who support Nuka-World or move to Main Street have a nearly pre-war quality of life and the protection of both the Nuka-World Raiders and the Institute. On the outside, he waffles between playful and stern, a tactic that helps keep a tight grip on the Nuka-World Raiders. They often doubt their ability but push onward. His Chinese upbringing is important to him and is a great influence on his life. He holds many Daoist principles, including the importance of balancing good and evil in the world. He feels that the Raiders and the Institute's authoritarian stances are an example of this neccessary evil.

Story

Pre-War
Once a blossoming Broadway star, Amir found that his fame didn't prevent him from being drafted when the U.S. Army came calling. He was trained in robotics and power armor repair and eventually sent to the frontlines of the Battle of Anchorage. During this time he was injured in an accident with a power armor's fusion core and lost his left arm just above the elbow and was honorably discharged.

Canon-Divergent Post-War
When Amir wakes up, Elaine's body is missing. He wakes up stumbles back to Sanctuary to find that Codsworth is still there with a tape from Elaine. He's horrified to learn that she was pregnant and he lost not only his fiance, but his child. He passes through Concord to find a small gang of Raiders arguing over dead Minutemen and continues onward to Diamond City only to be interrupted by a signal from the BoS. She helps Paladin Danse to clear out the police station but leaves quickly, not willing to become a soldier again. Eventually reaching Diamond city, Nick Valentine, although moved by his story, is unable to help. He spends the next few months as a wandering musician until he picks up MacCready and the pair scavenge the Wasteland and refurbish robots to resell. In the process, they meet the Lorenzo family and Amir begins to take the Mysterious Serum, heightening his strength and combat skills.

Canon-Divergent Raider Arc
MacCready is convinced to return to Duncan, leaving Amir alone in the Wasteland again. He returns shortly to his route until he follows the Nuka-World radio signal and makes his way through the Gauntlet. He meets Gage and is dubbed the new Overboss, a position he resents but embraces out of necessity. Amir quickly becomes attached to the title of Overboss and realizes that keeping raiders on a tight leash is better than allowing them to create chaos across the Commonwealth and attempts to use the Nuka-World Raiders as a source for good. She builds up vassal settlements into functioning towns and allow others to live on Main Street.

Personas

Never completely able to leave the stage behind, Amir dons one of several characters (and costumes!) he has crafted to both intimidate outsiders and cope with the realities of his new life. Amir was trained as a method actor and maintains these personas for weeks at a time.

Mallory
Mallory was Amir's last name that he now uses as his first. After leaving the vault, he finds a Nuka-Cola jumpsuit at an abandoned Red Rocket and put it on. This character is a pre-war mechanic that seemingly hasn't noticed the world has ended. Always pleasant and polite, Mallory poses as a part of Nuka World's maintenance crew to relieve the stress of being Overboss.

Xiào
A nod to his Chinese upbringing, 孝 or Xiào is the Mandarin word for filial piety, or the Confucian customs and norms surrounding deference to one's parents. It is also a play on a similarly spelled word 校 or Xiao, a Chinese military rank of field officer.

Orson Colorado
Orson Colorado was Amir's stage name that he's created into a stereotypical Wild West villain.
